I’ve just found out that it’s World Poetry Day and I could let the 24 hours pass without using it as the motivation to put pen to paper and scribble down a few words of rhyme in my native Lallans. It; a bit rushed but I hope that you like it.
It’s been a long time noo
Syne first I saw your e’en so blue
Your hair as gouden as the daffodils
That danced among the Ayrshire hills
Mauny a day hae past syne then
But you still fill this auld hairt o’ mine
With love as fresh as it was that day
When first we met doon Chooky Brae.
