With a strained calf muscle, running was off the agenda for me this weekend, so I took the opportunity to give something back to the Scottish running community by braving the wind and rain to cheer on the 44 runners at Springburn parkrun. As usual, it was good to catch up with a few old friends and to make some new ones too.
It wasn’t great weather for taking pictures but I put the waterproofs on, fitted my camera with a rain cover and joined in the fun.

Giffnock North’s Luke Chamberlain, was one of six first timers and he stormed (pun intended) to victory, with a time of 18:25. Kirkintilloch Olympion’s youngster Emma Mahon, was first female, in 21:59.

Well done to both of them and to all the other runners too, some of whom celebrated clocking up their 10th parkruns and, of course, many thanks to the nine volunteers who made it all possible.
